Our Process

Here at JACOBEAN Craft Chocolate, we begin with sourcing the finest organic Cacao Beans from around the world. Our single origin beans are nurtured through a 12-step/20-day process to bring out the individual flavours and nuances of each bean profile. Keeping our chocolate limited to small batches, we are able to create the most wonderful flavours.
 
 
…. we sort, roast, crack, winnow, grind, formulate, melange, conch, age, and temper small batches of cacao beans and then mold and package each bar by hand.
 
All of our chocolate products are:
  • Peanut Free 
  • Soy Free
  • Gluten Free
  • Egg Free
  • Dairy Free (Exception 1)
  • GMO Free
  • Direct Trade (wherever possible)
  • Sodium Free (Exception 4)
  • 100% plant based (Exception 2 and 3)
  • Organic
  • VEGAN (Exception 3)
 
EXCEPTIONS:
  1. Our Caramel uses Dairy and ingredients from facilities that process seeds and nuts - but not peanuts.
  2. Our Marshmallow uses gelatin : Hence these products are not 100% plant based or VEGAN friendly.
  3. One of our products utilizes Bee products, and to the purest VEGAN, this might not be acceptable.
  4. Some of products utilize salt.
